HISTORY of the RSPA






1974 April 16 - Bill Hamilton, acting as ad-hoc chairman, called a meeting of eight ISP retirees and three active officers to order to plan the formation of the Retired State Police Association.

1974 May 14 - The follow-up RSPA planning meeting elected Louis Seman Sr. President, Phillip Colela Vice President and Bill Hamilton Secretary-Treasurer.

1974 May 15 - The Retired State Police Association was chartered in Illinois. Persons signing the papers were William Hamilton, William Murphy, Peter Paradotti, Louis Seman and John Stuper. Initial membership was 90 retired ISP officers.

1974 August 13 - RSPA President Louis Seman requested to that he be replaced so another election was held. Phillip Colella President, Sam McGaw 1st Vice-President, Tornie Womack 2nd Vice-President and Bill Hamilton Secretary-Treasurer.

1976 February 17 - RSPA Officers Tornie Womack President, George Cushing 1st VP, John Wells 2nd VP and Bill Hamilton Secretary-Treasurer.

1977 February - RSPA officers George Cushing President, john Wells 1st VP, Edward Weston 2nd VP, and Bill Hamilton Secretary-Treasurer.

1978 March - RSPA officers John Wells President, Edward Weston died 12/12/77 and Charles Riva was elected May 24 1st VP, Ralph Kennedy 2nd VP and Bill Hamilton Secretary-Treasurer.

1979 October - RSPA officers elected to serve in 1980 Charles Riva President, Ralph Kennedy 1st VP, James Rosenow 2nd VP and Bill Hamilton Secretary-Treasurer.

1981 November - RSPA officers elected to serve in 1982 Ralph Kennedy President, James Rosenow 1st VP, Allen Smith 2nd VP and Bill Hamilton Secretary-Treasurer.

1983 November - RSPA officers elected to serve in 1984 James Rosenow President, Allen Smith 1st VP, Robert Hardiek 2nd VP and Bill Hamilton Secretary-Treasurer.

1985 December - RSPA officers elected to serve in 1986 Allen Smith President, Robert Hardiek 1st VP, Lawrence Eastman 2ndVP and Bill Hamilton Secretary-Treasurer.

1987 November - RSPA officers elected to serve in 1988 Robert Hardiek President, Lawrence Eastman 1st VP, Clarence Reeb 2nd VP and Bill Hamilton Secretary-Treasurer.

1989 November - RSPA officers elected to serve in 1990 Lawrence Eastman President, Clarence Reeb 1st VP, Ivan Burnett 2nd VP and Bill Hamilton Secretary-Treasurer.

1991 September - RSPA officers elected to serve in 1992 Clarence Reeb President, Ivan Burnett 1st VP, William Hamilton 2nd VP and Jim Golden Secretary-Treasurer.

1993 October - RSPA officers elected to serve in 1994 Ivan Burnett President, William Hamilton 1st VP, Robert Rainey 2nd VP and Jim Golden Secretary-Treasurer.

1995 November - RSPA officers elected to serve in 1996 William Hamilton President, Robert Rainey 1st VP, Joseph Ginter 2nd VP and Jerry Jeter Secretary-Treasurer.

1997 October - In a special meeting in Galesburg, Illinois the RSPA honors Bill Hamilton by naming him Honorary President of the RSPA for Life for founding and leading the organization since 1974.

1998 February - RSPA officers Joseph Ginter President, George Huntington 1st VP, Thomas Watson 2nd VP, Thomas Little Secretary and Jerry Jeter Treasurer.

2000 February - RSPA officers George Huntington President, Thomas Watson 1st VP, Limey Nargelenas 2nd VP, Thomas Little Secretary and Heinz Mueller Treasurer

2002 February - RSPA officers Limey Nargelenas President, Thomas Little 1 st VP, Dennis Meyer 2nd VP, Judy Best Secretary and Heinz Mueller Treasurer

2004 February - RSPA officers Thomas Little President, Dennis Meyer 1st VP, Kenneth Carter 2nd VP, Judy Best Secretary and Heinz Mueller Treasurer

2006 February - RSPA officers Dennis Meyer President, Kenneth Carter 1st VP, Roger McIntire 2nd VP, Stephanie Peske Secretary and Heinz Mueller Treasurer

2008 February - RSPA officers Kenneth Carter President, Roger McInire 1st VP, Michael Stavola 2nd VP, Stephanie Peske Secretary, Heinz Mueller Treasurer

2010 February - RSPA officers Roger McIntire President, Michael Stavola 1st VP, Joseph Davis 2nd VP, Stephanie Peske Secretary and Heinz Mueller Treasurer.
