Operation Blue Needle vaccination program.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve and the ISP continues to respond.   In a continued effort to fortify the ranks of the Illinois State Police, the Medical Bureau will resume the Operation Blue Needle vaccination program.

Four mobile vaccination teams will begin scheduled visits to ISP districts, zones and facilities including the academy and the FOP Lodge.  The operation kicks off August 16, 2021.

Vaccines will be offered to ISP employees and families.  Vaccines will be administered on a first come first serve basis and every effort will be made to accommodate anyone who presents requesting to be vaccinated.  Two vaccine options will be available.  Pfizer two dose (21 days apart) and J&J single dose.  Informative information prepared by IDPH should be available through your district.   In addition, Dr. Dennis has prepared a video which will answer some common questions and it will be available early next week for review.   Children 12 years old and above are eligible to be vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine.  The schedule is as attached.
